Tropic Skincare
Susie Ma, the Founder of Tropic Skincare, initially reached out to me to create a range of powder products to go into her compacts.
Researching the product range
We had initial meetings to define her requirements and how she wanted the product to perform.
Then, delving into research, we looked at their current product offering, key competitors and the market to help define the set of shades we would produce.
Most importantly, we worked on how their brand would stand out in the market. Using crucial factors, such as pay-off, coverage and luminescence of the product, helped us to produce targets for each product.
Superior product development for Tropic Skincare
Tropic skincare has strict requirements for each product. For example, it has to match its brand promise of being fully vegan, no animal testing, no parabens, no silicones and not petroleum-derived. All these factors meant I had to source ingredients and raw materials that qualified their criteria.
Finally, using this, I created a purpose-built lab space to produce prototypes that Susie and her top Make-up Artist could review.
Final Delivery & Shade creation
Once all the shades were approved, I worked with their facilities to scale up their manufacturing. It was essential to create batches that could be tested and approved before going to market. I rigorously tested the samples to ensure the colours were exact from start to finish.
Results for Tropic Skincare
The compact powders became award-winning cosmetics for Tropic Skincare and are a beautiful extension to her product range, allowing people to switch the products they love.
